Benzinga NFT Madness 2022 Tournament

“NFT Madness 2022” is a one-of-a-kind NFT tournament where 64 NFT Collections are competing against each other for the crown of Benzinga‘s “Fan-voted Best NFT Collection“. Running from March 19 to April 14, 2022, the championship features 64 NFT Heavyweights, divided into four groups of sixteen each.
Participating NFTs in the tournament includes – “High seeded NFTs“, based on the all-time sales volume, along with a set of collections that have appeared on Benzinga’s NFT show “The Roadmap.” There are a total of 12 High seeded NFTs in the contest: BAYC, Axie Infinity, CryptoPunks, Art Blocks, NBA Top Shot, VeeFriends, CloneX, MAYC, Cool Cats, Meebits, Bored Ape Kennel Club & Doodles.

Voting for Round 1 of all four groups concluded on March 22, 2022 and following 32 NFTs made their way into Round 2:
Group 1 Round 1
BAYC, NFT Worlds, Cryptoadz, Azuki, Sneaky Vampire syndicate, Starcatchers, The Doge Pound and NBA Top Shot NFTs from group 1 secured their place for Round 2 of the championship. While many of the fan-favorites easily qualified for the next round, there were some upsetters; Like “Cryptoadz” NFTs, which gained a massive win over renowned women-led NFT project “Boss Beauties“.
“Crabada”, a play-to-earn NFT game on “Avalanche” blockchain lost to the ETH based “The Doge Pound NFT”, while in a neck-and-neck competition “NBA Top Shot” NFTs built on “Flow” blockchain, won the round over “Wall St Bulls” NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain.

Group 2 Round 1
The 8 Winners from Group 2 after round 1 includes: Cryptopunks, Degen Ape Academy, CyberKongz, The Sandbox, Sappy Seals, Doodles, 0N1 Force & VeeFriends. One noteworthy result in this group was the win of Solana based NFT Collection “Degen Ape Academy” (minted 14 Aug 2021) over old Ethereum based NFT Project “Curio Cards“, which was launched on May 9, 2017.
Also, another “Women-led NFT project” – Flower Girls didn’t make the cut, though in all fairness it does had a tough competitor in “The Sandbox“. “Farmers World” NFT game built on the Wax blockchain platform was also voted less than ETH based “Sappy Seals“.

Group 3 Round 1
The 8 Winners from Group 3 after round 1 includes: Art Blocks, Zed Run, Robotos, Loot, Mfers, BAKC, Lazy Lions & CloneX. Both Solana based NFT Collection in this group, i.e. “Solana Monkey Business” & “Photo Finish” lost to their ETH competitors.

Group 4 Round 1
The 8 Winners from Group 3 after round 1 includes: Axie Infinity, Creature World, World of Women, Cryptodads, Deadfellaz, Cool Cats, Punks Comic & Mutant Ape Yatch Club. There were no major upsets in this group, with renowned projects like MAYC even amassing 100% of the fan votes. Also, finally a women-led NFT Project “World of Women” won and moved forward in the competition.
