Warner Brothers launches Lord of the Rings NFT Collection on WB Movieverse
Today, the official Twitter handle of Warner Bros Digital Collectibles (@WarnerBrosNFT) has announced the launch of their WB Movieverse platform with a Lord of the Rings premiere NFT drop in partnership with Eluv.io.
WB Movieverse is planned to be the home for Warner Bros. Web3 movie experiences and act as a marketplace for WB fans to buy and sell digital asset bundles associated with their company. For the launch, Warner Bros. Discovery has chosen the beloved 2001 epic fantasy adventure film, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, directed by Peter Jackson.
The collection will be available for purchase beginning on October 21, 2022 (9 am PT/12 pm ET) on WB Movieverse and has two different types of NFT Editions: Mystery Edition and Epic Edition.
Interested fans can head over to the official WB Movieverse website and sign up to create an Eluvio Media wallet (by Apple ID, Google account, or email). Users can also sign in with a 3rd party wallet like Metamask, and their NFTs will be minted to their Metamask wallet address on the Eluvio Blockchain.
Fans can choose the Mystery or Epic Edition NFTS of LOTR and complete the purchase with a credit card, debit card, or cryptocurrencies. The minted NFT will show up in their Eluvio Media wallet, and fans can then stream the feature film directly from the navigation menu of WB Movieverse.

Warner Bros. and Eluvio are minting 10,000 copies of the Mystery Edition, priced at $30 each. The Mystery edition of LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring NFTs will include the 4K UHD extended edition (3 hours 48 minutes) of the feature film and other special features.
In the Mystery edition, consumers will receive one interactive location-based navigation menu from one of the three film locations. These three locations, which are The Shire (common), Rivendell (uncommon), and Mines of Moria (rare), will remain a mystery until they appear in your wallet.LOTR Mystery Edition NFTs will also feature image galleries and hidden AR collectibles from the assigned film location.
The 999 copies of the LOTR Epic Edition are priced at $100 each and include all three location-based navigation menus, AR collectibles in all three locations, and bonus image galleries not included in the Mystery Edition.
Eluv.io is a Web3 firm offering full-length and higher-value video experiences as NFTs. Built on Eluv.io’s CFP (Content Fabric protocol), the platform enables on-chain content streaming, NFT-authorized media access, and exclusive media NFTs for brands and creators.
Interesting Points:
- The LOTR Premiere NFTs will include over eight hours of bonus footage and commentary, which isn’t available in its entirety on the 4K Blu-ray set.
- Special bonus feature includes early storyboards, pre-viz animatics, animatics to film comparisons, and much more.
- There will be a limit of 10 NFTs and 3 NFTs per transaction for the Premiere Mystery Edition and Epic Edition, respectively.
- Content Fabric is Ethereum compatible.
- For the primary mint of the LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring Web3 experience, all major payment providers (Apple Pay, Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover), and all major cryptocurrencies are supported.
