CoinEx is Official Cryptocurrency Trading Platform Partner of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup
The 2021 Rugby League World Cup, to be played in England from October 15 to November 19, 2022, is just around the corner, and CoinEx, a Hong Kong-based global cryptocurrency exchange, has been announced as its official cryptocurrency trading platform partner.
Founded in December 2017, CoinEx aims to make crypto trading easier for the masses, and with more than 3 million registered users in over 200 countries, the digital coin exchange has become a secure and reliable brand worldwide. Available in 16 languages, including English, Dutch, Chinese, Spanish, and French, etc., CoinEx offers spot trading, futures contracts, margin trading, mining pool, AMM, CoinEx Dock, and much more.
CoinEx is dedicated to building a highly secure, stable, and consumer-friendly cryptocurrency exchange that is accessible to all. And over the past few years, the crypto trading platform has launched many products and features in its ecosystem, keeping the general public in mind. From “ViaWallet”, a decentralized multi-cryptocurrency wallet, to “OneSwap”, an on-chain trading platform allowing deployment in any smart contract, all are intended for mass adoption of crypto, and to break the shackles of traditional finance.
This historic 16th edition of RLWC will feature men’s, women’s and wheelchair rugby competitions as part of the Rugby League World Cup main event for the first time ever. And CoinEx’s brand association with the flagship event in the international rugby calendar is seen as another synergic alliance between the sporting world and the crypto industry.
Earlier this year, Crypto.com was unveiled as an Official Sponsor of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and recently, OKX, a Seychelles-based Crypto Exchange, became the official primary partner of British Formula One team McLaren Racing. But unlike these sports fans, who are relatively new to the crypto sphere, rugby fans are already known to have adopted the innovative sector of Blockchain.
There has been a lot of chatter about NFTs in the rugby communities across the world, with many professional athletes adopting the tech to further enhance their brand and connect with fans with digital sports card collectibles.
After the Rugby League World Cup 2021 was postponed in August 2021, RLWC decided to launch the sport’s first ever NFT marketplace through a partnership with NuArca, a Massachusetts (US) based Blockchain company. Following suit, English professional rugby league club Hull FC, in July 2022, partnered with NuArca Labs to deliver an NFT gaming platform.
Last year, in December 2021, South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby star Latrell Mitchell (part of the Australian squad for RLWC2021) signed up with NFT Platfrom Stadio to create a personalised NFT collection, which offers exclusive benefits and experiences for the holder.
Earlier this year, in February 2022, NRL player Cameron Munster announced the “Dead Diamond Society NFT Collection”, his digital asset project which was labelled “The Ultimate Queenslander NFT.” The Dead Diamond Society Skull NFT was sold out for USD $1.4 million within 15 minutes of going public. Cameron Munster plays for Melbourne Storm in the NRL, and is part of the Australian squad for the RLWC 2021. Cameron, who is actively involved in the Blockchain and NFT space, is very excited about the community reach aspect of digital assets.
All in all, the official RLWC2021 digital collectables marketplace and CoinEx as the official cryptocurrency trading platform partner for the flagship event, suggest the growing passion for cryptocurrency and NFTs amongst the general public, especially in Rugby communities.
